Add Cheerful Yellow to Wintry White Designs

Wintry white spaces have been trending lately in the interior design world, not only in big-name magazines, but also in the decorating blogosphere. But white on its own is a little too cold for my taste, so I suggest adding yellow to a white space to lift your spirits this winter. According to color theory, yellow invokes joy and happiness, so take a look at these cheerful rooms that feature creamy white and yellow, and start getting inspired!

I love the buttery yellow walls and accents in this living room, where the furniture is predominantly white and light gray.

Gray is the new beige, after all, and I love how it looks in this room with cream and yellow.

If you’re starting with a white base, add yellow through accessories like drapes and pillows.

What do you think of white and yellow in interior design? I think they make a wonderful decorating duo for uplifting spaces!

  1. I couldn’t agree more! While they are “playing it safe” I think what they contribute to the life of the rooms you have shared are really quite elegant and cheerful!
